Short concerts as part of the 9th Swiss Castle Day at 11.00, 12.30, 14.00 and 16.00 o’clock.
The programme presents pieces of music from the 13th to the 15th centuries, i.e. from the time when Thun Castle was built and flourished. These panegyric songs were composed for special occasions such as victories, weddings, the birth of princes or other festivities. Many were composed in France, Italy or Poland and praise not only kings and princes but also the magnificent cities. The courtly dances from the collection of Margaret of Austria should not be forgotten either. The Swiss ensemble Dragma performs the vocal and instrumental pieces from the courts of Europe with voices and a range of medieval instruments – harp, lute, and fiddles.
