What an amazing verue yesterday, playing our duo program for two lyra viols in the Rubenshuis in Antwerp. Not only did we get a private tour before the concert - the atmosphere during the latenight concert was magical. A true joy, pleasure and honour. Thankyou!Wat een sfeervol concert gisteren: Musicke & Mirth in het Rubenshuis. Van een totaalplaatje gesproken! Gemist? Niet getreurd, want vanavond krijg je een herkansing. Om 22:15 is dit unieke gebeuren opnieuw te bekijken en beluisteren. De laatste tickets kan je nog steeds aan onze balie (tot 17:00) en online aanvragen.

"[Marc] Lewon, Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett and Grace Newcombe sing and play several instruments, and they all excel. Newcombe’s voice has many admirers, but she’s also very canny on the organetto (those crunchy leading-notes!) and the harp. The instrumental playing stands out for its fluency and precision and the vocal soloists are generally on great form, whether as an ensemble (in the Gloria Ad ongni vento by Zachara) or singly (the Regina gloriosa attributed to Ciconia, with Lorenza Donadini on the cantus line). (...) But most importantly, the lion’s share of music that’s recorded here for the first time is superbly done."

Our new triple-CD is out today - the complete recording of the Krasinski Codex (Warszawa, Biblioteka Narodowa, Rps 8054 III), most important Polish music source from 15th-century! We offer the entire palette of medieval instruments in virtuoso compositions, while the pure voices of the ensemble Peregrina invited to collaborate present the vocal works (Raumklang). Recognised early music specialists are a guarantee of thoughtful and beautiful renditions of the fascinating compositions from the Krasinski manuscript, many of which will be heard for the first time after 600 years!
From today on you can find it on all digital platforms - the physical copies will be released soon after the New Year when the huge new edition of this manuscript by Marc Lewon and Agnieszka Budzinska-Bennett will follow by Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne.
