In Polish Radio Dwójka every morning this week!🎶 Cudownie ocalony przetrwał czas ostatniej wojny i dzisiaj jest naszym powodem dumy i szczęścia. Kodeks Krasińskich (dla wtajemniczonych "Kras 52"), powstał w pierwszej połowie XV wieku - w Polsce Jagiellonów.

🎼 Dla muzykologów stanowi najcenniejsze polskie źródło muzyki wielogłosowej jesieni średniowiecza, a dla słuchaczy źródło wielkiej przyjemności, gdy zawarty w nim repertuar wykonują znakomici artyści, jak jest właśnie w przypadku przedstawianego nagrania.

📀 Wydana wiosną trzypłytowa kolekcja, to pierwsze kompletne nagranie muzyki zanotowanej w rękopisie. Interpretację przygotowała i poprowadziła Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett - mieszkająca i pracująca w Szwajcarii śpiewaczka, harfistka i muzykolog. Dokonała tego z artystami dwóch zespołów specjalizujących się w muzyce średniowiecznej - bogate brzmienie instrumentów, to Ensemble Dragma, w części wokalnej słuchamy natomiast głosów ensemble Peregrina.

🪶 Część z 40 zapisanych w Kodeksie Krasińskich utworów znamy z wielu wykonań, to m.in. kompozycje Mikołaja z Radomia, utwory związane z Krakowem, czy perełki europejskiej polifonii franko-flamandzkiej oraz francusko-włoska muzyka stylu Ars Nova, ale niektóre nie były wykonywane od blisko 600 lat.

💿 Równolegle z premierą albumu prezentującego repertuar muzyczny Kodeksu Krasińskich ukazała się pięknie wydana, imponująca rozmiarem edycja wykonawcza z esejami i komentarzem krytycznym, której autorami jest duet artystów i jednocześnie muzykologów badających dawne źródła - Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett oraz Marc Lewon.

💿 Trzypłytowy album Kodeks Krasińskich, piętnastowieczna muzyka z Krakowa wydany w tym roku przez niemiecką wytwórnię RAUMKLANG do zdobycia w „Poranku Dwójki” codziennie do soboty kilka minut po 8.00.

Our complete edition of Krasiński Codex (Rps 8054 III, commonly called Kras 52) with essays and critical commentary is out! It combines philological approach with decades of practical experience of its authors, Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett and Marc Lewon which makes it also performer-friendly. Particular traits of this bilingual publication (pl & eng) are the reconstructions of previously unedited pieces preserved fragmentarily, some alternative transcriptions wherever the reading were ambiguous. Each composition is accompanied by an essay on the history of the piece as well as the nature of the notation and the method of transcribing. The publication also includes: an introduction, short biographies of composers and poets, a glossary of terms used in the edition and the most up-to-date bibliography.
The project is accompanied by a complete recording of the works in the manuscript (3 CDs, Raumklang 2024) by Ensemble Dragma and ensemble Peregrina, directed by Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett, with further practical insights into the repertory of Krasiński Codex, including some alternative forms, instrumental concordances and fanciful diminutions.
